Autumn Ramblings and OOTD

I call this look the English Pub.

I’ve never done this, so bare with me. I was in the Newark Museum in Leicester with my boyfriend the other day, to see their exhibition on the free masonry. I was inspired by this idea of men meeting up to do God and them only knows what and decided to wear that same feeling on me (and cynicism, if you can smell it here. I do apoligise).

It was a bit of a gloomy day, and it felt cold but my jacket made me feel cozy. That’s what I like about the autumn. The contrast between the brooding cold of the outside and the safety of the inside. It’s incredible how good your brain makes you feel if you’re safe, warm and have food. Sometimes I try to focus on that safety when I’m alone in my home, worrying. Remembering that it’s all going to be alright, because I’ll survive through whatever it is I’m struggling with. I still have food and shelter to go back to.

The best way of dealing with bad emotions caused by this dreary autumn weather is by getting more of the summer back. I’ve mentioned heat and shelter, but also plenty of vegetables and exercise. It’s so easy to just sit at home all autumn and winter and fall into sad moods. I like to motivate myself by writing more, going out of my comfort zone. This year, I’m going to be seriously attempting National Novel Writing Month, which takes place in November. I wouldn’t say it’s too much of a stretch, as I have written a good bit of prose, but an actual full novel is a challenge. I should’ve really planned it by now! The idea is to only get a rough first draft done to have something to work with.

That’s just a few ramblings about autumn and what this outfit makes me think of.
