Hello and welcome to another #escapril / #napowrimo post! Here is a poem for today. Hope you enjoy these, and remember that you can still join in and write a poem a day throughout April. Click here to see the last post.
The Lines of His Face
Lukewarm milk, a treaty of tongues
with the plunge of your hands
against the scream of an alarm-clock.
A sigh of relief - not today - with a smile towards you.
We're lighter with every rabbit-nosed smile.
Your marble arms of warmth
contrasting your onyx hair,
cascade. You lift me
like a buttercup in sunlight.
Your fingers like ivy,
your voice like a violin
playing on my heart's beat.
